I bought the CD back in the day and played it a lot: it was a gem right when things started get as mellow as it ever got in the history of metal (the year after, 1996, has remained for me the low-down ever: practically all old bands had lost their way and few new bands were doing anything interesting). No matter how cynic one might be, one's got to admit things have picked up a lot since then musically speaking. Not to compare with early 90s of course, subjectively speaking, but hey.

The sound was always one of my favourite aspects of the album, right in a period when everybody were opting for cleaner and cleaner sound – the strangely technical turns in the music are perfectly contrasted and/or highlighted by the rusty fuck-all production... and King's tormented vocals. A classic, and my favourite Deceased album after the killer "13 Frightened Souls" MLP and the uncanny debut.

I need to check out their last couple albums and hear what they're up to these days.Tom Titnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34659035.post-21823965912505340582010-12-30T15:32:54.832-08:002010-12-30T15:32:54.832-08:00@Phelpster: I could swear that I left a comment fo...@Phelpster: I could swear that I left a comment for this post shortly after you posted it. Oh well... I just wanted to thank you Phelpster, along with everyone else, for contributing to the Nightmare Before Christmas event. I had a lot of fun researching and putting together all of my posts. It was great being greeted by the amazing music that you, Sab, and Strange Ranger posted also. I would definitely like to do this again next year, and turn it into an annual event. If we do this the same time again next year the theme would be even more fitting, considering it will be leading up to the year 2012, and the beginning of the end ;)Zer0_IIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00198889581230275413noreply@blogger.com
