I think one of the best film composer (and, unfortunately, really underrated) is Christopher Young. His score for "Judicial Consent" (1994) is hardly impossible to find! Can you help me please? My name is Silas, but on the Int...Hello, Meltd0wn!
My name is Silas, but on the Internet I go by my artist name Vintage.
For the past couple of months, I've been working with 7 different artists to create what I'd call a compilation of sorts, a project I've decided to name Mutiny.
The compilation consists of 10 tracks (some artists feature more than once) and was compiled by myself over Soundcloud, which is where I found the artists in question.

I had 3 reasons to do this:
Of course, I have some interest in promoting myself as an artist, but mainly as a producer. One of my own tracks also shortly feature on the compilation, but mainly as a filler. It was an excercise in communicating with artists I've had no prior contact to, but most importantly my first excercise as a producer.
I found all of these artists to be talented in various ways, and I find that they deserve attention. Of course it would be futile to immediately recommend them for major labels, considering the genres and styles. All of them have have some unique take on the genres they work in, some even work completely outside of classification, but they all somehow fit inside the same aesthetic frame, at least to me.
As a fan of "weird music," it's in my interest to create awareness of "the underground," which nowadays is largely based around the Internet, at least to my experience. I want these musicians to be heard. And not just the artists in this project, but generally everyone who works hard for their sound, despite not having a whole lot of resources to work with. The word amateur ultimately comes from Latin "amator," "lover, or lover of." I'm an amateur, all of these artist are amateurs, and there are fantastic amounts of amateur musicians who have real talent and deserve to be more than just one of the thousands of Soundclouders or Bandcampers. I guess it could be traced to a certain despair with what mainstream music is today (this is part of why I chose to name it Mutiny), but ultimately it's more about raising awareness. That's also why I and all of the participating artists have consented not to make money off of this compilation, it would be nothing but a hurdle on an already rough road.

The music for this project was found entirely through Soundcloud, as mentioned above. The styles range of musique concrete inspired drony electroacoustics to glitch-hop and even glitch-rock. Many different sounds with some common characteristics, mainly hhe glitchy, noisier aspects of it all.
The compilation itself is finished, but a few odd ends need to be tied together before we can actually release it, mainly some minor formatting problems with album art and such, but until then, I urge you to listen to the compilation (but not yet distribute it).
An early version of Mutiny can be downloaded here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?foc6yh9yp9uglvn
Please ignore any formatting problems. There are loads of little mistakes in there, this was merely the first finished version showcased for the artists' approval.

If you would like to help promote this project, please contact me over this e-mail address. I will make sure you receive the complete and finished version once it is done by the end of this month (June).

Sincerely, Silas aka. I know it has been a long time since many of you made your requests, but hopefully I can introduce the album you requested to many others, even you aren't still around to see them posted. I would like to apologize to those of you who made requests and happen to read this. I've just been occupied with work and school, and when I have the free time to work on the blog, I usually already have something in mind, and simply forget to check the requests.

@ George Ellias: I noticed a comment posted by a George Ellias in the "Show Your Support" post. If you would like to submit your work to me, please do so via e-mail. If it isn't too much trouble, please send me a download link to the file, along with a brief bio of yourself. If I like it I will share it on the blog, encourage my visitors to purchase it (if that is an option), and promote your album in accordance with your wishes.Zer0_IIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00198889581230275413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34659035.post-53099702038173820842011-04-05T04:04:49.414-07:002011-04-05T04:04:49.414-07:00George Ellias - Wanderlust EPGeorge Ellias - Wanderlust EPAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34659035.post-71524947946592848562011-03-08T09:11:59.716-08:002011-03-08T09:11:59.716-08:00Hey guys,
