Welcome

elcome to the Digital Meltd0wn Music Blog. The aim of this blog is to introduce the readers to music that is out of print, commercially unavailable, released under a creative commons license, or with approval by the featured artist. The majority of the music posted here would be considered underground. Don't let that fool you into thinking that the music featured here might be any less enjoyable than that of the mainstream artists you hear on the radio, as this couldn't be further from the truth. Please keep in mind that the majority of the artists that appear on this blog, along with their respective record labels, are not wealthy and need your support. If you enjoy the material that you find here, please support the artists/labels by purchasing their material afterwards. If you are an artist/label that would prefer to have your material removed from this blog, simply leave me a comment, and I would be more than happy to promptly remove the offending post. In addition to running this blog, I also work on a few other projects during my spare time. You can find links to those, as well as a few other important links associated with Digital Meltd0wn in the menu bar above.

Instructions For Unpacking .rar Files

A lot of people get confused when they download an album only to find that it is compressed into a .rar file. A .rar file is simply a file format used by compression software. The archives are created because it makes it easier to upload entire albums as one file, and since it is compressed, it also reduces the size of the file being uploaded/downloaded. In order to extract the contents of a .rar file you will need the proper software. The most common program used for creating and extracting .rar archives is WinRar, which is shareware. However, there are a number of great freeware programs that do the job just as nicely. I've created a list of freeware audio programs, which you can find here:

Freeware Audio List

There are several free Compression/Decompression programs available for you to choose from at the bottom of the list. If you are still having trouble feel free to leave a comment and I would be more than happy to assist you.

Request An Album

If you're having trouble finding an album, or would just like to hear an artist that you're not familiar with, please leave a comment here. I'm usually able to find just about anything, even if it's very rare, and if I can't I have a few good connections which may be able to. If I'm able to find what you're looking for on another blog, then I will simply post the address where it can be found in the comments of this post, so be sure to check back. I will handle all requests as quickly as possible.

If you are going to request an album as an anonymous user, please leave information so that I can contact you once I have filled your request. If you do not, then your request will not be filled.

Report A Dead Link

If you find an album which has a broken download link, and would like to request that it be re-uploaded, please leave a comment here. Please do not leave a comment on the actual post, as it might get overlooked, while this list is checked often. Once you have notified us of a dead link, we will add it to the list below, and it will be re-uploaded as soon as we have the time.

If you have downloaded one of the albums below from this blog, and would like to help out, you can do so by uploading one of the albums below and leaving a comment here. It will help save us a lot of time, and ensure that we can continue focusing on sharing material that hasn't already been posted here.
