Welcome

elcome to the Digital Meltd0wn Music Blog. The aim of this blog is to introduce the readers to music that is out of print, commercially unavailable, released under a creative commons license, or with approval by the featured artist. The majority of the music posted here would be considered underground. Don't let that fool you into thinking that the music featured here might be any less enjoyable than that of the mainstream artists you hear on the radio, as this couldn't be further from the truth. Please keep in mind that the majority of the artists that appear on this blog, along with their respective record labels, are not wealthy and need your support. If you enjoy the material that you find here, please support the artists/labels by purchasing their material afterwards. If you are an artist/label that would prefer to have your material removed from this blog, simply leave me a comment, and I would be more than happy to promptly remove the offending post. In addition to running this blog, I also work on a few other projects during my spare time. You can find links to those, as well as a few other important links associated with Digital Meltd0wn in the menu bar above.

Thee Mighty Caesars - Thee Caesars of Trash

Here's more Wild Billy Childish as requested, this time in the form of Thee Mighty Caesars. Thee Might Caesars consisted of Childish, Graham Day of the Prisoners, and John Agnew of Thee Milkshakes.

More punkier than Thee Milkshakes, still Rhythm and Blues, but less Rock and Roll. As the sleeve notes say "This is Punk Rock / Rhythm and Beat as it should be; three chords, cheap gear, and a healthy dose of hatred and contempt for the outside world." Go out and make yourself a purchase of one of their CD's to get a decent cross section of the raw punk. - from trouser press

Thee Milkshakes - Talking 'Bout Milkshakes

Here's more Billy Childish, as requested. This time in the form of The(e) Milkshakes. No other group since the sixties has captured the exuberance and rawness of the original British beat group sound as well as the Milkshakes. 'Wild' Billy Childish and his merry men released 13 albums as The Milkshakes between 1980 and 1985 and a further 20 albums by spin-off and associated groups such as The Del-Monas, Mighty Caesars & Thee Headcoats, and have in the intervening years, created a veritable cottage industry. Big Beat has always enjoyed a special relationship with The Milkshakes.

Track List:
1. She'll be mine
2. Pretty baby
3. For she
4. I want'cha for my little girl
5. Ruhrgebeat
6. After midnight

10. Tell me where's that girl
11. Can'tcha see
12. Love you the whole night through 13. Nothing you can say or do
14. I say you lie

Thee Mighty Caesars - Wise Blood

Another Billy Childish band, this one after the Milkshakes... Always good, low-fi grunge punk rock with a nod to fifties and sixties beat. More punkier than Thee Milkshakes, still Rhythm and Blues, but less rock and roll. As the sleeve notes to Caesars Pleasure goes "This is Punk Rock / Rhythm and Beat as it should be; three chords, cheap gear, and a healthy dose of hatred and contempt for the outside world." Go out and make yourself a purchase of one of their CD's to get a decent cross section of the raw punk. - from trouser press
