Welcome

elcome to the Digital Meltd0wn Music Blog. The aim of this blog is to introduce the readers to music that is out of print, commercially unavailable, released under a creative commons license, or with approval by the featured artist. The majority of the music posted here would be considered underground. Don't let that fool you into thinking that the music featured here might be any less enjoyable than that of the mainstream artists you hear on the radio, as this couldn't be further from the truth. Please keep in mind that the majority of the artists that appear on this blog, along with their respective record labels, are not wealthy and need your support. If you enjoy the material that you find here, please support the artists/labels by purchasing their material afterwards. If you are an artist/label that would prefer to have your material removed from this blog, simply leave me a comment, and I would be more than happy to promptly remove the offending post. In addition to running this blog, I also work on a few other projects during my spare time. You can find links to those, as well as a few other important links associated with Digital Meltd0wn in the menu bar above.

Request An Album

If you're having trouble finding an album, or would just like to hear an artist that you're not familiar with, please leave a comment here. I'm usually able to find just about anything, even if it's very rare, and if I can't I have a few good connections which may be able to. If I'm able to find what you're looking for on another blog, then I will simply post the address where it can be found in the comments of this post, so be sure to check back. I will handle all requests as quickly as possible.

If you are going to request an album as an anonymous user, please leave information so that I can contact you once I have filled your request. If you do not, then your request will not be filled.

Anonymous: Wow.. I wasn't even aware that Doo Rag had Peel Sessions albums out. I would love to get my hands on those as well. I'll add them to my wishlist and hopefully someone will come through. If they do I'll be sure to shoot an e-mail your way. Thanks for making me aware of those.

Not really a request, but I've noticed that some of the links to albums (in the 2006 section) aren't downloadable. Is there any chance of you remedying this?

It's just that you've got some classic albums there (like Damned, Damned, Damned and Rocket to Russia) and it's a shame that they aren't available anymore.

Hi, thank you very much for the LP rip of "Godley & Creme - Cry (Extended Remix) 12" 45" !

I was looking for 'Cry' (Extended Remix by J.J.Jeczalik) in lossless format. (FLAC, WV, SHN...).

I guess you keep the original lossless rip of this vinyl, so, is it possible that you could send me only this track in lossless format?

My e-mail:
gonzalojpardo@gmail.com

Anyway, thank you very much for your rip @ 320 kbps... better than my previous 160 kbps version.

Take care,
Gonzalo

Ren & Stimpy Production Music.

I've been reading that in addition to volumes 1 & 2 posted here that there is also a volume 3 and possibly volume 4, however the only thing I have been able to find on this has been a torrent posted at piratebay that only seems to have 1 seeder and hence is impossibly slow.

Anonymous said...

Ren & Stimpy Production music volumes 3 and possibly 4?

Have found impossibly slow torrents but direct links would be great if they exist.

Zer0_II said...

@Jonny & Anonymous: I do have "Ren & Stimpy Production Music Vol. 3" Unfortunately I don't have the names of the artists responsible for the tracks. I'm working with Kirk from the Secret Fun Blog to figure out who the artists are, but until I am able to do that I would rather not post it. I don't have Volume 4 though, and have only seen one person refer to it. I asked that person to send me a download link, but have yet to receive a response from them. I'm still a little uncertain as to whether or not it even exists.

If any one reading this has any information on the artists responsible for "Ren and Stimpy Production Music Vol. 3" please send me a message or leave a comment. Likewise, if you can confirm that Vol. 4 exists, or have a download link you can provide, please do the same.

hi! your blog is outrageous. ive owned a copy of elviras vinyl macabre since i was in high school and nearly yelped when i saw you had a copy linked up. im on your blog at least once a day; amazing. thank you.

i wanted to share/request one of my favorite video game soundtracks: Zombies Ate my Neighbors for sega genesis (and maybe super nintendo?). I cannot find a link online today, but in august i DL'd some rip of the soundtrack and its CRAZY. really fun, spooky, and strange music. really interesting choices in video game production and overall song writing. Highly recommended, i feel like it would fit in well at digital meltdown.

thanks again for the amazing music.

Zer0_II said...

@nick s: I'm glad you're enjoying the blog. I'll see if I can dig up Zombies Ate My Neighbors for you. I had actually intended to post a couple of video game soundtracks, but I completely forgot about them to be honest. I have the Friday the 13th soundtrack for the original Nintendo console. I was also considering sharing the soundtracks to the original Resident Evil and Silent Hill games. Hopefully their is an e-mail address listed on your blogger profile. If so, I'll send you a message if I'm able to find a rip of Zombies At My Neighbors. Thank you for the suggestion. Take care.

Hey guys,

First off, amazing site! I'm not sure how it's eluded me this long, but I'm certainly enjoying the journey through it now. All of your hard work does not go unappreciated!

I'm wondering if you might help me locate a 'library music' album of interest - I'm looking for Standard Music Library ESL120 'COMEDY'... I've had no luck. Any help finding this gem would be amazing.

George Ellias - Wanderlust EP

Zer0_II said...

Wow.. I'm really behind on all of the requests. Next weekend I will make an honest effort to see if I can satisfy some of these requests. I know it has been a long time since many of you made your requests, but hopefully I can introduce the album you requested to many others, even you aren't still around to see them posted. I would like to apologize to those of you who made requests and happen to read this. I've just been occupied with work and school, and when I have the free time to work on the blog, I usually already have something in mind, and simply forget to check the requests.

@ George Ellias: I noticed a comment posted by a George Ellias in the "Show Your Support" post. If you would like to submit your work to me, please do so via e-mail. If it isn't too much trouble, please send me a download link to the file, along with a brief bio of yourself. If I like it I will share it on the blog, encourage my visitors to purchase it (if that is an option), and promote your album in accordance with your wishes.

Hi There,
I'd be really interested to hear Vernon Wells re-take on Boris Karloff's famous "Tales Of The Frightened".

Silas/Vintage said...

Hello, Meltd0wn!
My name is Silas, but on the Internet I go by my artist name Vintage.
For the past couple of months, I've been working with 7 different artists to create what I'd call a compilation of sorts, a project I've decided to name Mutiny.
The compilation consists of 10 tracks (some artists feature more than once) and was compiled by myself over Soundcloud, which is where I found the artists in question.

I had 3 reasons to do this:
Of course, I have some interest in promoting myself as an artist, but mainly as a producer. One of my own tracks also shortly feature on the compilation, but mainly as a filler. It was an excercise in communicating with artists I've had no prior contact to, but most importantly my first excercise as a producer.
I found all of these artists to be talented in various ways, and I find that they deserve attention. Of course it would be futile to immediately recommend them for major labels, considering the genres and styles. All of them have have some unique take on the genres they work in, some even work completely outside of classification, but they all somehow fit inside the same aesthetic frame, at least to me.
As a fan of "weird music," it's in my interest to create awareness of "the underground," which nowadays is largely based around the Internet, at least to my experience. I want these musicians to be heard. And not just the artists in this project, but generally everyone who works hard for their sound, despite not having a whole lot of resources to work with. The word amateur ultimately comes from Latin "amator," "lover, or lover of." I'm an amateur, all of these artist are amateurs, and there are fantastic amounts of amateur musicians who have real talent and deserve to be more than just one of the thousands of Soundclouders or Bandcampers. I guess it could be traced to a certain despair with what mainstream music is today (this is part of why I chose to name it Mutiny), but ultimately it's more about raising awareness. That's also why I and all of the participating artists have consented not to make money off of this compilation, it would be nothing but a hurdle on an already rough road.

The music for this project was found entirely through Soundcloud, as mentioned above. The styles range of musique concrete inspired drony electroacoustics to glitch-hop and even glitch-rock. Many different sounds with some common characteristics, mainly hhe glitchy, noisier aspects of it all.
The compilation itself is finished, but a few odd ends need to be tied together before we can actually release it, mainly some minor formatting problems with album art and such, but until then, I urge you to listen to the compilation (but not yet distribute it).
An early version of Mutiny can be downloaded here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?foc6yh9yp9uglvn
Please ignore any formatting problems. There are loads of little mistakes in there, this was merely the first finished version showcased for the artists' approval.

If you would like to help promote this project, please contact me over this e-mail address. I will make sure you receive the complete and finished version once it is done by the end of this month (June).

Sincerely, Silas aka. Vintage.

Hi, great blog! I really like movie soundtracks and I've noticed you have a lot of them, expecially horror scores. I think one of the best film composer (and, unfortunately, really underrated) is Christopher Young. His score for "Judicial Consent" (1994) is hardly impossible to find! Can you help me please? Thanks
