Welcome

elcome to the Digital Meltd0wn Music Blog. The aim of this blog is to introduce the readers to music that is out of print, commercially unavailable, released under a creative commons license, or with approval by the featured artist. The majority of the music posted here would be considered underground. Don't let that fool you into thinking that the music featured here might be any less enjoyable than that of the mainstream artists you hear on the radio, as this couldn't be further from the truth. Please keep in mind that the majority of the artists that appear on this blog, along with their respective record labels, are not wealthy and need your support. If you enjoy the material that you find here, please support the artists/labels by purchasing their material afterwards. If you are an artist/label that would prefer to have your material removed from this blog, simply leave me a comment, and I would be more than happy to promptly remove the offending post. In addition to running this blog, I also work on a few other projects during my spare time. You can find links to those, as well as a few other important links associated with Digital Meltd0wn in the menu bar above.

VA - Meltdown on Mediaburn

Here's the last request I'm going to do for the week. I'll start posting requests once I've finished posting a few albums of my own choice. This album was nearly impossible to find and I was unable to find out any information about it. Nevertheless, it's a great compilation of raw garage rock songs that will give you plenty of listening pleasure. So here's Meltdown on Mediaburn as requested....

Track List:
1. The Purple Things - Wild Man
2. The Wigs - 7 & 7 Is
3. The X-Men - Little Girl
4. The Tall Boys - Last Night
5. The Atoms - Shot Down
6. The Sting-Rays - I Want My Woman
7. The Sting-Rays - My Flash On You (Live)
8. The Golden Horde - Dig That Crazy Grave
9. The Bad Karma Beckons - Can't Stop
10. The Cannibals - Screaming Abdabs
11. The Purple Things - Valley of the Purple
12. The Surfadelics - Bad Little Girl
13. Thee Milkshakes - I Want You
14. The Locomotives - Nuclear Winter Blues

Mediaburn was the brainchild of Bal and Alec of the Stingrays ("...as in, 'burn the media'...." as one of them said back then.)

The earliest comp of these groups was These Cats Aint Nothing But Trash, on Big Beat, a few years earlier....
