Welcome

elcome to the Digital Meltd0wn Music Blog. The aim of this blog is to introduce the readers to music that is out of print, commercially unavailable, released under a creative commons license, or with approval by the featured artist. The majority of the music posted here would be considered underground. Don't let that fool you into thinking that the music featured here might be any less enjoyable than that of the mainstream artists you hear on the radio, as this couldn't be further from the truth. Please keep in mind that the majority of the artists that appear on this blog, along with their respective record labels, are not wealthy and need your support. If you enjoy the material that you find here, please support the artists/labels by purchasing their material afterwards. If you are an artist/label that would prefer to have your material removed from this blog, simply leave me a comment, and I would be more than happy to promptly remove the offending post. In addition to running this blog, I also work on a few other projects during my spare time. You can find links to those, as well as a few other important links associated with Digital Meltd0wn in the menu bar above.

TWILIGHTZONE! music blog down...

I've just received terrible news. The legendary blog, TWILIGHTZONE! has been removed. This is a huge blow to the music blog community. For those unfamiliar with the blog, it was the best resource for rockabilly/psychobilly and garage rock on the internet. To the best of my knowledge, all of the music shared there was out of print or otherwise unavailable. It makes me wonder how much of a chance other blogs have of staying up if the TWILIGHTZONE! has been deleted by blogger. RYP, if you happen to read this, please let us know something. If there is anything I can do to help you out I would be more than willing to do so, and I'm sure many others would also. I know of other places that you can host your blog where you wouldn't have to worry about it being taken down. If any of you hear any news as to why TWILIGHTZONE! was removed, or hear from RYP, please let me know. I will keep you all updated on news concerning this matter as soon as it is made available to me.

Update:

I'm happy to report that RYP is up and running with a new TWILIGHTZONE! Unfortunately, it looks as if the old blog is gone for good though. I'm happy to see that RYP isn't giving up as so many other bloggers have done when their blogs were removed. When I posted the pages that google had cached, I had forgotten about the download links being in the comments, so I would like to apologize for that. Thanks to those of you who pointed that out to me. I'm going to attempt other ways to access the comments page, and I will let you all know if I have any luck. Here is the new url for the TWILIGHTZONE!:

This is a tragedy. As a wise White Russian drinker once said, "This AGGRESSION will not STAND, man!"

RYP, if you're unable to continue elsewhere, I just don't know whether I can justify my Internet bill any longer....

This is truly awful. Twilightzone was by far the most extensive and best blog on the entire internet, offering obscure titles generally long out-of-print.

Please, please post any information that you may hear.

Also, FYI, the Google link is useless, since the links to the downloads are in the comments and you can't access the comments.

Thanks for being a source of info on this.

A very sad news.

RYP was the best music blog in my opinion.
Thanks to him and all his contributors !

This is the saddest day since Nargo the Bort left the game. Unfortunately the comment links on the archived page no longer work, so don't bother.

this is upsetting. i posted on licorice pizza to see if they had any news. two other interesting music blogs i visit just got hit with dmca threats http://radiobutt.blogspot.com/ and http://rho-xs.blogspot.com/.

wonder if this is a forebearer of things to come on blogspot?

and why does it seem the sites that focus mostly on obscure and out-of-print seem to be getting hit (though radiobutt did post recent stuff)? or maybe they're the only ones i've noticed.

we don't want to loose you guys, you're our entertainment and education. it just seems they're fighting against the current.

twilightzone wasn't cutting into anyone's bottom-line. actually i'm sured they fueled interest in alot of music otherwise missed and therefore sales. they most certainly did with me.

Yeah: this is disasterous news all-round.

Here's hoping Twilight Zone can get it together elsewhere. Scarcely a day went by without something great, and otherwise unheard, turning up on there.

Was hoping to grab some stuff for posterity from that google saved-page, but, of course, the links are in the comments, and the comments have been killed by fiends. : (

Hmm, bad bad news! Had just discovered the joys of Twilight Zones. Fingers crossed it returns to fight another day, in some shape or form!!
Ps- you can't get anything from the cache page, because all the links were in the comments...

I've seen others going down lately too. No one as big as RYP, but they're definitely cracking down. The bigger they are the harder they fall. There could be a mass exodus soon. I noticed ZShare was down for a couple of days also, and there was that recent news that RapidShare lost a court case in Germany. The party may have to move down the street.

anyone know some internet archive for the twilightzone blogspot where i might find all the rapidshare links to twilightzone's now sadly deleted former blogspot page? i only got to download one-fifth of the outstanding usa garage greats collection/

Scaryweather: Try this method for accessing the cached comments pages. A visitor to my other blog passed this tip onto me.

"To get to the comments, first copy the post address (in the time stamp), then in Google type "cache:INSERTPOSTADDRESSHERE" (minus these buggers -> "") and it'll take you to the cache of the whole post, including the comment with the link."

I can't get the comments part (with the rapidshare link to each album) of google's cached "TWILIGHTZONE!" to open the comments. they all say "we're sorry but we were unable to complete you're request." any other ideas? or am i doing this wrong?
