Welcome

elcome to the Digital Meltd0wn Music Blog. The aim of this blog is to introduce the readers to music that is out of print, commercially unavailable, released under a creative commons license, or with approval by the featured artist. The majority of the music posted here would be considered underground. Don't let that fool you into thinking that the music featured here might be any less enjoyable than that of the mainstream artists you hear on the radio, as this couldn't be further from the truth. Please keep in mind that the majority of the artists that appear on this blog, along with their respective record labels, are not wealthy and need your support. If you enjoy the material that you find here, please support the artists/labels by purchasing their material afterwards. If you are an artist/label that would prefer to have your material removed from this blog, simply leave me a comment, and I would be more than happy to promptly remove the offending post. In addition to running this blog, I also work on a few other projects during my spare time. You can find links to those, as well as a few other important links associated with Digital Meltd0wn in the menu bar above.

I'm looking for Bernard Herrmann's complete score to the 1971 film "It's Alive" aka (Baby Killer). I found a download link for a bootleg version of the complete score in 320kbps, but the download link wasn't working. I'm sure it can probably be found elsewhere on the internet though.

Zer0_II said...

@Peter: You're very welcome for the music. Are you requesting Rosemary's Baby, or simply just making a comment?

Notthe said...

Great site! Some fantastic stuff here - cheers for your hard work!

My request would be an expanded soundtrack to Joseph Le Duca's "Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn" OST. I've only ever come across the standard OST and not seen any expanded editions. Would love to get hold of this if it exists. Can you help? Or at least let me know if such a thing exists! Cheers! Dave

Zer0_II said...

@Dave: I'm not sure if it exists, but I will find out and add your request to the list. I know that there are many bootleg releases of expanded soundtracks, so even if an official expanded edition was never released perhaps someone else has done the job.

i would like to request the OST of Claudio Simonetti The Third Mother (La Terza madre) 2007.

Hideaway OST

I would like to remind everyone that I could use some help filling these requests. If you have any of the items requested please post the download link here in the comments.

@Anna & Dick: I added your requests to the main post.

As far as I'm concerned there is NOthing creepier than Diamanda Galas performing The Litanies of Satan. My hair turned white the first time I played this & it still gives me goose-bumps.

Hello, I'd like to request something similar to E.V.P. As long as I know their songs, I didn't come across anything similar to them.
Here is a sample of the music.

Zer0_II said...

@Strange Ranger: Thank you so much for helping out. I was beginning to worry that no one would come along and help fill the requests. It really takes a load off my shoulders because I'm lucky if I have enough time to put up one post a day.

I just now found the time to check and approve the new comments, so I haven't had time to update the list. I have to go to bed now, but I'll be updating the requests list tomorrow morning.

@wcme: There are a couple of compilations of music for films released by Hammer that I have been considering posting. Let me know if you're interested. I have "The Hammer Studio Frankenstein Film Music Collection", and the similarly titled collection for Dracula. I also have the "Hammer Quatermass Film Music Collection". I believe that they all have a bitrate of 320kbps but I'm not home right now and can't remember off the top of my head.

Zer0_II said...

@wcme: You can find "Taste the Blood of Dracula" here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/420253613/Taste_The_Blood_Of_Dracula.zip

I found this on another blog, and haven't had time to download it, but it is from a reliable source and the download link is currently active.

Zer0_II said...

@wcme: Here is another Hammer soundtrack for you, although not one of those you specifically requested. Here is James Bernard's score to the 1970 film "Scars of Dracula". The score was released in 2000.

@Zer0_II: I think I've heard the It's Alive bootleg you mentioned. I has like 30 + tracks. The sound quality on it is absolutely atrocious though. I deleted it long ago because I couldn't even enjoy the music. I have a -V0 mp3 rip of the Silva Screen release of It's Alive 2 if you're interested.

It's George from facebook I would like to see Siler Bullet that would be a good one.

Strange Ranger said...

@ Dick Towel: I have located Hideaway OST. I will upload when I get a chance. I also found the complete score bootleg. It's freakin' awesome, too.

@ George from Facebook: I have Silver Bullet. I will upload it when I get a chance, unless someone else beats me to it.

@Zer0_II: I am in the process of downloading "It's Alive" right now. The one I have found is in 320kbps and has 40 tracks with no titles. I hope this is what you're looking for. The sound quality on it is the same as the one I listened to a long time ago. But maybe the poor recording quality adds charm to it. It's weird how hearing something again after a lot of time has gone by can have a different effect on someone. I'll upload it when I can. Peace.

Zer0_II said...

@Strange Ranger: Wow, you're on a roll my friend. I was planning on uploading Silver Bullet, but I wanted to ask you what bitrate the version you had was in. The version I have is 192kbps, and 14 tracks long. If the version you have is the same then it would make sense for me to go ahead and upload it so you can work on that other stuff, although if it is higher than that I'm sure George would appreciate it if you uploaded yours instead.

Zer0_II said...

@Notthe: I have searched all over and simply can't find any indication that an expanded version of Evil Dead 2 exists, which is why I didn't add it to the list. Can you provide a link or something that indicates otherwise for me? If you're correct I would be more than happy to add it to the list.

Strange Ranger said...

@ Zer0_II: I have a FLAC rip of Silver Bullet (14 tracks). I can convert it to mp3 320. I'll upload it for you.

Zer0_II said...

@Strange Ranger: You are the fucking man.. seriously. Thank you so much, not only for coming through with my request, but for being so helpful in general.

Strange Ranger said...

@ Zer0_II: No problem, man. One correction though - that Hideaway OST is @ 256 kbps, not 320.

Zer0_II said...

I have another request that I have added to the list. I'm looking for the soundtrack to "Bad Moon" composed by Daniel Licht. I believe this was released by Silva Screen Records in 1996. The version I have has a bitrate of 192kbps, and I would prefer to have it in either 320kbps or FLAC. This is an excellent horror soundtrack, and I would love to share it here on the blog, but would prefer not to put up the 192kbps version.

@Strange Ranger: 256kbps is fine with me. Thank you once again. I haven't downloaded it yet, but I plan to tomorrow and look forward to giving it a listen.

Hey guys!

I am trying to find the links to: "James Bernard - She (1965) (Request Filled)
Mario Nascimbene - The Vengeance of She (1968)" - What are they?

Also, any chance of those ""The Hammer Studio Frankenstein Film Music Collection", and the similarly titled collection for Dracula. I also have the "Hammer Quatermass Film Music Collection"" - Pretty Please?!

the Taste the blood of Dracula was a MAJOR score. :) many thanks from a true HAMMERHEAD!

Strange Ranger said...

Hammer Frankenstein Film Music Collection It comes courtesy of stereoelf @ FFShrine, a public video game related forum. http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/hammer-frankenstein-film-music-collection-2002-bernard-80846/

Creating an account is free, but I don't know if that place is going to last another year, because of copyright showdowns with Film Score Monthly.

Zer0_II said...

@wcme: The reason I added "request filled" beside the soundtrack for "She" is because the music from it was contained in one of the Hammer film music compilations I posted for you. I believe that is as close as you are going to get to the full soundtrack/score, but I can removed the "request filled" tag and keep looking if you prefer. I haven't found anything for "Vengeance of She" and it is still on the list without a "request filled" tag beside it.

It's too bad you already have the Quatermass Film Music Collection. I'm actually in the process of uploading both a FLAC and 320kbps mp3 version of this right now. I see that Strange Ranger already filled the Frankenstein Collection request. If he doesn't beat me to it I will post a link to the Dracula collection tonight. I wanted to wait till I could find out if these were out of print so that I could post them on the blog rather than in this request thread.

@Strange Ranger: I hope that FFShrine doesn't go down. I just discovered it a few weeks ago, and have downloaded a lot of great stuff from there. Hopefully they will just realize that it is better to honor the wishes of the labels and stick to material that is safe to post rather than fighting with them and losing everything.

Hi all!

1.) Heres a link to many Hammer soundtracks that I know exists (A full SHE\ Vengeance of She!) and a TON that I never knew (Legend of the seven golden vampires!)

2.) Thanks for the Frankenstein collection Space Ranger! I needed that!

3.) I DONT have the Quatermass - that was a typo. Please post!

Many thanks for great Hammer horror finds!!!!!!!!!!

I see that you already have "The Thing OST" with 11 tracks. But I would like to request "The Thing - Expanded Motion Picture Soundtrack" it has 19 tracks. It has been available on many other sites in the past, but they have all been deleted by their hosting companies due to inactivity. Thanks in advance! LOVE THE BLOG!

I've been trying to get on the blogload for awhile. I put together themed compilations at Burn and Shine on a somewhat regular basis. This is my third Halloween posting a compilation. I would like to invite your readers to come on over. Thanks!

Zer0_II said...

@wcme: You forgot the link to the Hammer soundtracks you were referring to. If you don't care could you please post that link. I would like to take a look at it. I'm not sure if I will be able to post the Hammer Dracula collection on the main blog. If it is out of print it is fair game, but otherwise I'll deliver it to you right here in the comments.

@The Doc: I've added it to the list. I had an expanded bootleg version of The Thing but ended up deleting it. I can't remember why now, but I remember it had no track titles and was probably a very low bitrate. I know there are actually a couple of bootleg expanded versions floating around, but I'm not sure if an official expanded soundtrack was ever released. I'll see if I can track it down tomorrow.

wcme said...

Here is a collection of everything I have found on other blogs, in torrents, and ripped myself with the various Hammer Soundtracks I could locate. Major thanks to all original posters from various locations. In some cases the track numbers are not in the title, it may be listed as "Composer name - movie (track title)" with the zip file. But all are complete for the title given. You can rename as you like. These are in FLAC or 320 or a slight lower VBR. Nothing down in like 192k.

If these links should be respected and removed in some locations, please forgive. I just wanted to compile you a list. If this gets truncated please let me know.

This is the name of the album; a link to see what it contains; and the download link.

Its my hope you get to share this with everyone in the main site or here in the comments!

I have two other uploads ahead of it, but as soon as they are done I will be uploading it for you. I plan to post it on the main blog along with another bootleg version containing 15 tracks, and the original score in both 320kbps MP3 & FLAC. I've been looking for this OST forever to no avail whatsoever, its from the movie I Saw The Devil (2010). If you can find it (I wouldn't put it past you, evidenced by how much insanely obscure, insanely awesome stuff is here), a rain of happiness arrows upon me.
